Greatness

If you really want to know what greatness looks like, just take a minute to stare at a kid. Especially one about 3 to 5 years old. No, not their stature or appearance or abilities. You'd never rightly judge by their outward appearance anyway. Instead, listen to the way they talk and interact with others.

Actually, Jesus was pointing us toward character when He said,"...whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of God". God considers greatness to be those character traits we find in kids! Traits like sincerity, humility, simplicity and gentleness. To God, these are of great price.

While some strive for greatness and a title to put on their door- President, Owner, Doctor, CEO, etc.- and rightly so if their efforts have earned it; real greatness, at least in the eyes of God, can be found quietly nestled in the heart of a child.

Are you striving for greatness?
